Working Group on Noise
The main objectives of the operation of the Working Group on Noise are currently the fundamental problems in the field of environmental acoustics, including:
1. Verifying, modifying and, where necessary, amending the legislation on noise protection in the environment.
2. Harmonising the interpretation of the current legislation and administrative procedures on noise protection in the environment, in particular with regard to the scope of action of the Regional Inspectorates for Environmental Protection and General Inspectorates for Environmental Protection.
3. Improving the methodology and its practical application with regard to developing:
- acoustic maps;
- programmes of noise protection in the environment;
- and, in particular, implementing the EU guidelines and recommendations, after adapting them to national specificities and needs.
4. Initiating the development of practical rules for assessing vibroacoustic issues in environmental impact reports, in particular with regard to linear investment projects.
5. Improving the procedural (administrative) and methodological bases of establishing the Restricted Use Areas and Silent Areas.
6. Reviewing, discussing and selecting the optimal projects of noise protection in the environment, applied, in particular, in environmental impact reports and programmes of noise protection in the environment.
